NAP250DR with Powerline Lite!?
Posted by: DanT87 on 18 February 2017
Some of you may know I've recently bought the 250dr.
Just seen the other day a photo of the powerline lite and I must say it looks exactly the same as the power cable that has come in the box of my 250dr. Has the same semi connected wobble on the plug, and says Naim on the lower part of the plug too.
Can't seem to find anything concrete that says they come with it, the uniti products seem to have some information on them coming with the powerline lite though.
Thoughts?
My 300dr came with a Powerline Lite a week ago looks as if Naim are using these in other products as well as the Uniti Core.
I think I read that the new power line lite will be standard with all new Naim black boxes.

Interesting, definelty is a branded Naim plug, I'll get a photo at some point soon
Its a Naim plug made in the original PowerLine style - the casing has the Naim logo moulded into the cable entry cover. Wire size is 0.75mm into a moulded IEC 320 socket.

That looks like the one I have.
Justifies some element of the price increase.

I didn't get a new Powerline Lite when NAP300/300PS came back from a DR upgrade and service recently

Don't say this on another website I can think of as the abuse will run to a couple pages. Cost apparently is £ 95.00 so good value here in the States at present exchange rates.

It already has! 8 pages of mainly uninformed BS.
Say the price is £95 ish? Anyone know where/if these can be bought yet?

That 'other' forum has supplied much fun on the matter of the PowerLine Lite. At least it provides a (lite?) distraction from Trump and Brexit.
Got one with my N250DR as well, a pleasant surprise..

The cable and plug are the ones used in the (old) standard mains lead; only the mains plug is different.
And in Europe we've always had a decent Schucko-type plug.

Precisely so the Powerline Lite is irrelevant in the context of a European plug/ socket set up.
p.s. Or any other country without 13 amp square pins sockets for that matter
Because the loan Core has metadata issues using a shared library on my NAS, I used the PL Lite Cable on the 300DR to good effect. I've yet to try it on the 282's SuperCap DR, which is where my dealer recommended I start.
Certainly sorted out some dullness when I switched to two racks and added the 300DR. However, as I have a dedicated radial to a bank of 5 double sockets, I found putting the 300DR and SuperCap in the first double socket and the Aria Phono stage and nDAC in the bottom helped much more. Waiting to try loan Powerlines though. The Aria improved phenomenally with a PL, but accidentally I put it at the end of the 5 double socket bank rather than at the beginning. - my first order change. I later found the advice on socket order, so some of the PL improvement to the Aria may have come from that. The nDAC at the end also added considerably to the base and higher up. Even the TV through a 5m toslink sounded so much better. As good as going to the cinema.
