Connection Article - Servicing Your Naim Product

Posted by: Richard Dane on 24 February 2017

Hi All,

just thought I'd point you towards Naim's latest online Connection article entitled More Than Repairs... Servicing Your Naim Product.

More than Repairs... Servicing Your Naim Product

There's a nice picture of the Service Dept's Bev Haysom and Electronic Design Director, Steve Sells inspecting a NAP500 - rare to see it with its gull wing doors open...

Interesting article Richard, thanks.

I get the physical Connections mags but didn't realise new content was available online. I'll keep an eye on it in future.

But the test meter (DMM?) the guy's holding isn't going to do anything useful:  The photographer made him remove the test leads!

Thats the latest contactless testing technology to avoid any microscopic hairline scratches on the statement products!

Hi,

i've been told that Naim put a calendar in place for servicing our devices.
Can you, please, give an idea of the schedule (ie : january->DR upgrade, February->repair the NAP,etc...) in order to minimise our waiting time when sending our box ?

thx

FDIOP,

you would need to direct your question to Naim's service dept.  You can e-mail or phone the factory directly.  However, note that any items for service should be arranged through your dealer.

That was a good article to read and as I am having my NAP500 prototype serviced right now, I am very pleased that it can be done.

Great news Dean. A nice piece of Naim history.

I remember when the three 500 prototypes were raffled off at the factory.  Sadly we in sales weren't allowed to take part.  IIRC one of the lucky winners had his re-sprayed down in the soak test area with a can of flat black paint - it came out surprisingly well and looked quite professional.  Was that your one?

mine is still with you in the service department as it only got delivered to you a week or so ago. I believe it is untouched from when it was raffled off. How long ago that was, I'll have to leave that with you to tell me..

Ah OK, not with me, but with Naim at the factory - I'm based on the other side of the country.

IIRC the raffle was around 2006 or perhaps 2007.

I didn't realise that you were not in Salisbury. Thanks for the dates and it is still with the service team.
