Remote for 552

Use not sure! 

I think any of the remotes but some are easier to use than others. I like the narcom 4, the 3 I think is horrible and the 5 is aimed at streamers but is usable. The r-com my wife thinks will scratch the table and has banned it from the living room.

The standard remote that comes with the CD players and pre-amps work fine with the 552. Even though I have the R Com - a nice weighty beast - I find I still prefer to use the Narcom that came with my CDX2.2, which also has numbered buttons to select tracks so has more functionality than the R Com. 

I use the Narcom 3.I think it came with my Nat5. Have a Narcom 4 but never got round to using it. Also have the R-com that came with my 552. Did you get a discount for not having the R-com with the 552. It's quite expensive. Good looking bit of bling, but limited functionality. Mines in the cupboard. Pity the Flash had to be discontinued. EC regulations I think.

Narcon is cheap to replace, I think.  Worth having.  Same remote comes with NACs, CD, and NAT.  Since you have the NDS, it has a better remote than Narcon 4/5.  Or use an iPhone etc.

Did you replace your 252/NDX with the 552/NDS?  Or do you have both systems?  The remotes are the same -- the Rcom is an extra bonus -- you still get a Narcon with 552.

I like the Flash remote, which came with earlier NAC552s.

The 552 is an early one so no r com and when I sold my 252 I was obliged to include the remote. I think I'll only use it to programme the inputs as I do everything else with I pad. Was planning on searching the usual places but wanted to check which one  would do the 552 inputs?

ps I went from NDX / NDac / 555 to NDS and then a 552 came up locally which I couldn't refuse. - although it's currently heading backwards to HQ for a once over (no Dr yet though...) 

Cheers Gary.  I guess I never tried programming the 552 using my NDX remote.  Once set up, I prefer the NDX remote to the Narcon.

Where can i get my flash fixed?

Sorry:  Narcom, not Narcon.

Narcom 4, although i' ve been told that has been replaced by  Narcom 5 and is now the only one available like replacement part.

Dev, what's wrong with it?  It could just be batteries - if you don't snap the last one in cleanly then it can act all dead.  Let the capacitor discharge for a bit and then try again.

I'd second trying to get hold of a Flash. The Narcom is horrible by comparison...
