Tidal Nightmare Tonight

Posted by: Timo on 27 February 2017

This evening, the majority of albums I choose in Tidal has the wrong order of tracks, and this includes albums I played before with the right order of tracks (as one would expect from a music streaming service!). I am puzzled -- what's going on here?  Any clue here??? Advice on how to fix this would be much appreciated! It drives me mad -- it's no fun to listen to concertos when the movements are mixed up...  Maybe it's time to go to bed and hope it's all back to normal tomorrow...

Many thanks!

Timo

Crazy suggestion: have you accidentally switched on "shuffle" mode?

I actually wondered the same earlier, and checked -- but all looks fine. With the exception of the (displayed) order of tracks... I am clueless, and there doesn't seem to be a function for changing the order of tracks in an album.  Cheers anyway Alan!!!

I have just downloaded the actual Tidal app. I clicked a few albums, and there all seems in the right order. Looks like a problem with Tidal in the Naim app. Bizarre!!!

I'm experiencing the same thing in the Naim app and in the LUMIN app, but not the Tidal app.  Strange.

Same problem with Linn Kazoo.

Not as bad as 31 January 1953!

Hmmmm ... looking like it might be a TIDAL end issue then. I had this reported yesterday morning by a customer and logged it for the software guys to look into at this end...

Thanks a lot Phil -- much appreciated!!!

No clue whether this helps with identifying the problem -- in both the Tidal app and Tidal on my PC, there is no problem with the order of tracks.

I converted my Spotify playlists to Tidal and have quite a few duplicates that I keep on deleting that simply reappear as soon as you sign in again. It's fekking annoying!

Hi Phil -

Any news on this?  I too am seeing incorrect album track order when using Tidal through the Naim app, but not through the Tidal app on my iPad.  Thanks.

Tidal is working OK here via the Naim app.

I am still having trouble with Tidal in the Naim app, but it is my impression (after picking random albums in My Music) that fewer albums are affected by the problem. Seems somebody is working on fixing the problem.

Thanks Timo. You are right, some albums that were wrong just a couple of hours ago have now been fixed (e.g., Genesis's Foxtrot).

As far as I can gather it's a TIDAL end issue - I'm guessing here but it's looking like some of their streaming servers have had issues and they're slowly syncing up again...

I also had issues yesterday night with songs not playing at all on Tidal. This morning everything was ok again.

Here it looks as if Tidal is back to normal. I hope it's the same elsewhere... Maybe it was the magic of the Spotify Lossless thread -- or shall I rather say threat...
