Podspeakers

My Nait2 is not employed full-time in the living room or the office because both of those systems are in good balance.  I'm trying to find a permanent home for it and thinking about creating a bedroom system with it.  I have some extra NAC A5 fortunately.  I also have an old pair of Dynaudio Audience 40s but they are sounding worn out.  It would help the chances of the Nait2 being able to permanently remain in the bedroom if it had some speakers that were more aesthetically pleasing to my wife.

Some of podspeakers (e.g. Minipods and The Drop) look cool but I have never heard them.  I'm honestly a bit suspicious of their sound quality given the low prices.  Can anyone speak to their sound quality?

Possible sources would be a Rega Apollo-R, streaming directly from the Airport Express to the Nait2, and maybe even putting a Chord Mojo in between those sources and the Nait2.

Thanks

I know the MiniPod.  Best you try to take a good listen.  Aesthetically and performance-wise they're not my thing - I'd rather have a cool pair of classic Technics SB-F1s on their tripod stands - but if they do it for you then go and listen to a pair.

Not sure what could be considered "aesthetically pleasing" from your wife's point of view -- but what about Dynaudio's Emit M10? Fairly compact and good value for money.

Thanks Richard.  Now that sounds like a warning!  Maybe better to snag a pair of second hand Kan mk2s?

Oh yes, now you're talking.  No comparison against the Kans. A totally different class of speaker.
