TQ Black Diamond Speaker Cables on Home Dem?
Posted by: wenger2015 on 03 March 2017
The TQ Black Diamond Speaker cables have arrived for a home demo.
I have invited Finkfan over, so as to have a 2nd opinion.
We played a familiar cd from the group Fink, we both often use this as the reference cd for any potential upgrades.
After the first track, I immediately realised these cables are going to be good...
After the second and third tracks I almost found myself speechless .....bearing in mind I'm used to listening to TQ ultra blacks, which in my opinion our very very good, I've also had Super Lumina on dem a few weeks ago....which again our very very good....
All I can say is WOW, the extra detail, the timing, the soundstage , just everything is absolutely exquisite ...magic....talk about the musicians being in the room....
As each track played, the cables just seemed to get better and better and better....one particular review described these cables as being a masterpiece of cable design.... It summerises it perfectly....
What did my good friend Finkfan think? With his much younger ears?
Well exactly the same as me, I don't think I've seen a bigger grin on his face....
We both sat and listened to 10 tracks, both of us thinking the same thing...Are they worth £630 per metre? , absolutely .....
I will be having a really enjoyable weekend....
And Yes, I will be ordering a set...
Looks like they're staying then.... ![]()

I can have these on dem for as long as required, so will take full advantage of my dealers generosity... ![]()
After which......... these will be staying .......![]()
The Silver diamonds sounded fantastic when I heard them briefly last night. The Silver versions of the cables sound far better than I'd expected. The ultra silvers have been in my system for a short while and they've been a joy to hear. I'd say the ultra blacks are very detailed, particularly in the midrange. The ultra silvers, for twice the money, are far more detailed, particular in the higher frequencies. And yet both versions sound silmilar somehow. I'll change to the black diamonds tonight and see what the extra £££/m gets you.

It will be interesting to hear, how they perform in your system......enjoy
I've just wrestled with the black diamonds and they're now installed. First impressions are that they are incredibly smooth sounding. More detail coming through than with the ultra silvers, as you'd expect. Again the black diamonds focus slightly more on the midrange. It all sounds very good, and this with a bare CDX2 and a SN1 as a pre amp.

They are fearsome beasts.....but 'wow' their performance levels are staggering ........listen at your peril....![]()
Yes they're brilliant wires!

Will come and have a listen over the weekend.......I could bring the Silver Diamonds with me?
You're welcome anytime.
I've had the TQ Silver Diamonds in for 4 days on repeat.... .
They do say they take along time to settle down? Even though this is a demo set, I don't think they have been used for sometime.
They have been very good from the off, but they have just gone up a gear!!!!!
Its difficult to know how to describe them without sounding like a .........?
The Hi-fi pig review says they are the only speaker cable you will ever need.....i can understand why they have said that...
Just waiting to find out from my dealer what they are going to cost me? Umm
I'm looking forward to having a quick listen when I pop by later this afternoon Wenger. I'm really enjoying the Black diamonds.
So Wenger, I take it that the Tellurium Q hierarchy graphic stands true?

After having had a home demo of everything , then most definitely Yes..
I don't know how they make these cables but they sure do work...

Hi guys, great to read you impressions of the TQ speaker cables, as you know i am a big fan of them. How would you quantify the improvement of the silver Diamond's over the black Diamond's and would you discribe the improvement as great as going from the Ultra black to the black diamonds?
I am only asking this as I have not had a chance to audition the SD speaker cables and probably won't as they are just out of my reach price wise and I am sure I would be sorely tempted even though I am very very impressed with the BDs
Good listening
Rob

When you read the review from Hi-fi Pig it describes the Silver Diamonds as having a little more in every department, so far I would say that is spot on.
The set I have on demo have not been used in a while, so are in need of breaking in, they have gone up a gear in the four days I have had them plugged in, so it will be interesting to hear just how much more they have to reveal....
But so far, extremely impressive...

That said, a fancy website doesn't mean great products or company.
Well, TQ cables came about for a new cable design for another company and was part of IPI Technology, the other company then decided wisely not to move on with the designs. IPI Tech was set up by me to sell designs and not to manufacture products. G.M. was involved as a so called expert to facilitate the selling of designs by me. TQ got it's first open door to the pubic via contact I had at Rayleigh Hi-fi and then taken on by a new company to market the cable, KOG. Then things changed I became very ill and G.M. saw the opportunity to take over the company TQ and IPI Tech.
So my mistake was to trust a so called friend and I lost everything in my life. Fair ? or just short sighted greed ?
IPI also had SSR, Amps, Digital Filters, solar power, motor designs and many other product I designed.
And as a designer/inventor management of the to day to day running a company would have wreck my designing time. So accountants and non-creative types took over , short sited oh yes, no new ideas coming soon from IPI then.

Well, after starting a thread on the TQ Black Diamonds , I have ended up having a lengthy demo of the TQ Silver Diamonds.
I have just had a listening session, having not been able to listen for a few days due to excessive work commitments.
I don't normally play music at very loud volumes, but decided to just crank it up a bit....
My wife who doesn't normally comment, remarked to me after a short listen.......................................................................
I suggest you stick with Nac a5.........!!!!! ![]()
But my foot is tapping ....I said, must be your medication..... She said![]()
Ok, I confess I'm making it up, my wife really is not that bothered which speaker cables I have, as long as I'm happy....
And in all seriousness, I don't like the Silver Diamonds ..............I absolutely Love them ( see what I did there)...![]()
they are the best speaker cables I have ever heard..........
The best way of describing them is .........THEY ARE STAYING.....
Glad to you like the Silver diamonds. I'm current at doing paperwork listening to the black diamonds. Stunning cables.

It certainly makes 'doing paperwork' a much more enjoyable experience..
Agreed!
Excellent! Congratulations. Happy listening.
I hope you're still enjoying those cables [@mention:50422349809511500]. Have you made a final decision between the diamonds?
I've had the blacks back in my system for a week or so now. While they really are excellent cables, I'm now very much aware of what I'm missing. The black diamonds are stunning! My system sounded so good I could have happily sat back and completely forgotten that I'm only using a SN preamp.
Yes Finkfan, I've put in an order for the Silver Diamonds.
The demo set I had for a good 2 weeks, although good from the start, after some running in, are just incredible....
The Black Diamonds are a close 2nd, and I would be happy to have bought them but the dealer offer was so good......it was a no brainer as they say
We must have the best dealer on the planet!!!
Ps, your system with the Black Diamonds is absolutely superb, just goes to show the old hi-fi rules are history....
