NAC 112x aux 2 low volume issue

Hello dear members,

I have a Linn Axis Basik Plus connected to NAC 112x via StageLine N (Aux 2 in & pwr). Last week a friend of mine gave me NAC 122x for a test. Today I switched my NAC 112x back to the system. But there seems to be a problem when playing the TT - the volume is pretty much lower than the CD or DAC ones. If I have to put in numbers - around 40-50% from the CD or DAC volume. Before testing the NAC122x it was a little lower but OK. Now is too much different. And the sound is somehow tuneless. With the CD and the DAC I catch no difference.

Would you suggest a solution based on your experience?

Best regards,

Ivo

Ivo, thanks to the resistor ladder volume control the NAC112x has inputs which can each be varied in level.  Check to see whether these have been adjusted by mistake.

Hi Richard,

I forgot to mention that I tried this option. The Aux 2 volume was set on max. I have decreased it and than increased again as much as possible.

OK thanks Ivo.  As it's a Stageline N then that would indicate you have a MM cartridge, probably with a removable stylus.  Have you checked that this is located all the way in?  I have come across instances where the stylus wasn't completely seated and the result was lower output level than usual.
