Uniti Nova

Quick question to the forum, has anyone heard of a firmer indication of the launch and availability date for the Uniti Nova?
Manu, ok that is interesting if the case, but possibly contrary to the impression I got on a recent email exchange with a retailer so I hope you are right... however I can't help thinking this delay must be causing quite a financial impact to Naim in delaying the payback of development costs. I am sure these units must have cost a relatively large amount to develop.
Manu posted:Most of the current delay is due to certification with standards and third party solutions ( Google, Apple,...)
Its not unreasonable to ask why the certifications were not in place last december.
surely all companies shouldnt dip their toe in release dates then don't deliver. to me they will loose customers if it continues time after time.
It is certainly a courageous strategy
I've just noticed that on the Nova page on the NAim site it says "Uniti Nova will be available from our network of specialist retailers from June."
Is that new or did I just miss it before?
Nowadays every company announce their product way before the final product and all got delays, games patch after patch, etc
Just put a 3 month of buffer is my advice to naim as well as chord
My dealer has just rung me to say they've had a date of 14th June for their demo Unitis.

Did he say which year though ![]()
Latham - Naim Distributor for the Benelux - told me that the Uniti Nova should be available in July, price indication would be EUR 5.600
Please form an orderly que ![]()
I wonder how many pepole have NOT bought other products in the expectation of its imminent release? ![]()
Quite a long time announced vs actual!
It would be useful if Naim actually updated the Uniti Progress report thread, initially they said this would be done weekly.
Presumably the Atom should be due to ship next week as it is due by the next couple of weeks. Also there has been no indication if they have achieved the required certification for airplay chromecast etc. Any news?
Bit of a nightmare for dealers, as I believe the previous series of Uniti products have been unavailable as well - meaning no Naim product at that price point for an extended period. Given that most dealers are fairly small businesses, I would imagine this has been costly, in terms of lost revenue.
Not only a nightmare for dealers, also for Naim themselves ...

That's no doubt true - but Naim themselves made the decision to announce the new range before it was fully ready and stop producing the old one. In that sense whatever difficulties it's caused them are of their own making - not so the dealers....
I'm pretty confident Naim and Naim dealer's will all live happily ever after in the end.

No wonder that the "Introducing Uniti...." thread got closed back in March. Naim seem to have got themselves in a bit of a pickle this time. May I ask, Is Atom going to be out in June or November? Of this year I mean...![]()
PS: Has the price really gone up by £150??
June, and yes it's gone up before launch! Quite incredible.

Thank you. Very incredible indeed. Looks like Naim have jumped on the "increase prices with the excuse of Brexit" bandwagon and are trying to recover some of the losses from the delays of release. Quite sad because I was looking forward to the little Atom. But I'm afraid Naim have lost my custom in this case. Purely as a matter of principle.
Naim did what looked like a 10% increase across the board at either end of December or beginning of January. So the Atom, as well as the Star and Nova, got the hike, along with pretty much everything else. I'm fairly sure I saw the £1,750 price at dealers quite a few months ago.

Harsh. I like to consider myself a reasonable man and consider the price increase is more likely than not due the increased costs of imported components (pound down against the dollar as a consequence of brexit).
It is quite a unique situation where a product has been released and taken so long to arrive it has increased in price again and still not been released. Luckily I paid before the increase, but I can see why some people find the situation a bit distasteful.

I am not usually in the habit of being this harsh but in this case I feel that Naim are just taking advantage. Brexit didnt just happen. It had happened at the time when Naim gave the news of the releasse of the Uniti lineup. In fact the £ vs € exchange rate has been 1:1.15 since June last year (source: XE.com). So the recent increasse in price makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
The price rise was never going to make friends, but over the last few months the deafening silence from Naim has come across for some as arrogance, others stupidity and even worse the new face of Naim?

The even more remarkable part is how many of us have already paid! If my dealer were a Linn stockist, I'd probably be listening to music now, instead of posting here.
