Nap 135 snaics

Posted by: Lewis on 05 April 2017

Well, finally been able to source some 135's after a long time searching.  I have them all connected nicely, all I would like to know is can you use the newer style Nap 250 connecting snaics instead, as the plastic socket part on the ends of the older cables are rather long and tend to foul the rear of the Fraim even when fully seated.  I'll post a photo of the two shortly to illustrate the difference in length...

Thanks

The new ones are fine, though you need the specific ones for the 135s.

Ah so they are different to those used on the 250?  Thanks.

For the 135 there is a right channel lead and a left channel lead. As you have both types of leads it is not difficult to change the non-135 leads to 135-type leads.

Ok, I have two leads for the 135's.  I think I have them connected correctly.  There re two outlets on the back of each 135 and I have one cable connected to one only of each connector on the back of each 135.  They are then connected to hicap sockets 1 and 2 (CB hicap).  When I adjust the balance on the 32.5 to left and right channel it is correct through each left and right speaker, therefore I am assuming that I have them connected correctly?

So if I wanted to 'modernise' the leads i'd need two again, one for each of the channels?  The leads look the same though, is one specific for each channel?  Thanks!

Yes. Red is right, green is left.

Ok thank you.  Cunningly enough mine are not colour coded.  I assume they're correct because of the balance scenario I described above?
