Naim standard interconnect

Posted by: Joppe on 11 April 2017

Wow!  I just replaced my linn "silver" rca-rca with a "standard" naim rca-din interconnect from my Linn Urika Riaa. The change in musical flow and improved sense of presence is way beyond my expectations. And this from a cable I believe is less then half the price of the Linn! Highly recommended! Anybody with similar experience?

When you wrote 'standard' do you mean lavender?

Part of the improvement you hear is down to the change from phono to DIN connectors on the preamp end.

I have once tried to compare lavender with heimdall (rca to rca) and in my opinion/taste heimdall won. Now I have a shawline (din to din) and I'm very happy with that cable.

Yes Standard or Lavender (all my cables of this type I would consider to be gray though...).

Tonym, I agree I'm quite confident that the rca-din is a large part of the improvement I hear. But I believe it is not just that since I tested the linn cable with an din adaptor cable (admittedly cheep) which gave a hint of what was to be expected but still I was not prepered for this level of improvement.

Next step, when my DR upgrades are firmly settled, is to try Chord Signature TA or Sarum T vs Super Lumina on my CDS3. Currently I use HiLine din-din. I strongly doubt I will be able an rca-din version so I can audition these on my Lp12.

Yes similar experience !

It isn't just the DIN, as I have compared RCA to DIN cables from other companies with the real Naim one, and well, the Naim one was the best.

Not sure how exactly they manage to bring pace rhythm and timing in their cables, but the Naim's own RCA DIN is very good.
