The Powerline IEC Wiggle

Posted by: J.N. on 16 April 2017

I'm playing CD's this afternoon and something was nagging/a bit off. I remade the Super Lumina CD interconnect at both ends a few times, but (I think), more importantly, did the Powerline IEC wiggle, which I have found to be efficacious in the past.

The plugs seem to get hung-up/stiff in their sockets over time, losing decoupling properties. So I give 'em a wiggle, and the same with the 13 amp plugs on t'other ends in my Music Works distribution block which is equipped with wobbly sockets.

Yup; the magic is back.

Nice one John. Its always great to narrow down whatever causes our systems to sometimes sulk (musically). I was going to try your "powerline wiggle" tweak -- but alas most of my IEC connections are not easily accessible ---

however, system sounds very good right now, so i guess my plugs havent got "hung-up/stiff" yet...

system is due for a reset by dealer soon anyhow, for completely different reasons, so any ill-connected powerlines will be sorted out "in the wash"...

glad all is well anywhere John...

enjoy

When my system's off I give my willy a few wiggles. Puts things right back on song for me.

If you can get the missus to do a jiggle. This can help with soundstage
