Hi all, can anybody that has owned both models describe the differences in the sound quality between these two , and what difference adding a flatcap makes !

Don't you have SN2 and HC-DR? (subtext: why are you asking?)
C.
No, did have ! (to get experienced opinions.)

OK, so what was so wrong with SN2 and HC-DR that you think the answer might lie in XS or XS2?
I can't give you a comparison between the two because I've only heard the wonderful XS, which I owned.
C.
Hi there, did you try it with a flatcap, if so how did affect the sound ?
Steve
I' d also be curious to know about it. i could speak about adding a HC DR to XS and it's really transformational in a positive way, same when is introduced a Powerline.

Roberto
Flatcap XS on a Nait XS is a subtle but worthwhile improvement to most positive hi-fi aspects in my experience. Doesn't blow your head off but you can definitely tell something's missing once you've removed it.
Thanks for that MW
Steve
Steve, My FC2 added a finesse to the XS when I had my CD5. Later I went CDX2 and then CDS3. The XS far from disgraced. By that time it had a HC-DR.
What's this all about by the way?

The guy is asking a simple question about differences XS & FC
Chris im sure your a nice friendly guy, Why the pressure on maybe private matters and what you thought he had ?
Thinking of trying an nait xs in my system, (no home dem possible) thus trying to get a idea of how the 2 models differ in sound quality. Maybe it just a difference in power ! thus the question
Steve
Thanks Steve. I wish I could answer your question. I thought the original XS was very special but not heard the XS2. It just had a balance that seemed so right. Also has very few detractors here which must point to something.
C.
Thanks chris, from what I can find trawling through endless pages on the forum, general consensus seems to be that original XS is. fast and puts the "music" first and that the current 70w version is more "hi-fi. My main tastes are rock-pop !
Steve
Steve, I agree with Chris. I can't imagine you would regret an original Nait XS one bit... it is a ridiculously involving music maker. I haven't heard the Nait XS2 though so not too sure how it compares.
I have a nait xs and pretty much love it and I've just sold my flatcap 2x as I don't think it brought enough...if anything to the qualities of the amp to justify the price tag.even second hand.in fact focus has returned and it generally feels more musical to my ears but this could just be a placebo effect,I'm afraid I can't compair to the xs2 though.sorry.
Thanks for the reply and the comment regarding the flat cap.
Steve
Have an original XS & tried a FC but found it 'too hifi' for my tastes. The HC DR however, made it into something very good indeed....
Thanks for your view.
