I'm interested in the new contour 30, anybody allready experienced them with nait XS?

Not quite a Nait XS but I have heard them on the end of a NDS/252/300 system and they are pretty stunning.

I'm debating getting those or Scansonic MB5

Great speakers -- heard them at Acoustica's show. Possibly overspeakered with an XS?

I would have to agree with TIMO, they really should be at the very least driven by a 250, better still a 300. They are too much speaker for the XS series and deserve much better amplification to sound of their best.

I'm going to upgrade to 250DR/272, but want to buy speakers first.

Then you should have asked the opinion about the above combo instead of the specific question of how will the Contour speakers be with an XS integrated!!!!

Heard them with that combo, was superb. But all in one buy is over my budget.

I would upgrade the electronics first, then start listening to speakers that match both your amp and your room.

+1

You haven't mentioned your current speakers, but I suspect a 272/250DR combo will bring a greater improvement than adding the Contour to your XS2 and whatever is your source...

Couldn't agree more get the boxes sorted first.

heard them at a recent demo day - Naim Atom was driving them, very good speaker - but I thought the Atom was a little under powered to get the best out of them - I would suggest 200 or 250Dr to drive them fully - from memory they were about 5k with stands?

Reginald, it would be helpful to have more details of your current system: source, speakers etc.  Also whether your reason for upgrading is because you no longer enjoy listening to music through it.  If it won't take too long and you can live with your current system while you save the pennies for a 272/250/Contour 30 setup, I would seriously consider doing so.  Even though most of us (including me) don't do so, there is a lot to be said for buying the whole system in one go.  So often, a change to one part of a system unbalances the rest and can kick one prematurely along the upgrade path.  Also, a one-off purchase means you can really challenge your dealer to provide optimum VFM for  the budget you have allocated and for that amount of money you should expect a home dem. which can really test whether the proposed system works in your listening space, not just at a show or the dealer's rooms.
