loudspeaker cable length on unitiqute 2
Posted by: dikkiedirk on 23 April 2017
Is it permitted to have different cable lengths for each loudspeaker on a UQ2? Like 6.5m and 3.5m?
They should be the same length not ideal to have different lengths of cable.
it is also not ideal when I have 3m of cable bunled up laying around.

It's a pain but also bloody expensive floor covering when your using Super Lumina speaker cables.
You should fold the excess back and forth fire-cracker style. The forum FAQ has all you need to know about speaker cable on Naim kit.
Friends of mine have a Naim system (Nait 5i) with different lengths of NACA5 cable. One is about 2m and the other about 5m. It was installed by Billy Vee. I thought it was odd and asked on here and nobody thought it was an issue. Anyway, it's been like that for seven years and nothing has blown up. It still seems wrong to me though.
Probably wont matter -- the fetishists will squeal like a stuck pig, but thats only their wierdness showing.
I am not planning getting me speakercable of 50+ Euros per meter, but would Linn K20 cable do?
Linn K20 is quite ok. I've both NacA5 and Linn K20 and you'll loose some of the bottom and high but given the UQ, this is likely to be limited.
Its budget friendly stuff.
I rather go for same length K20 than different length Nac A5.
What termination would you use for K20? Linn bananas?
Good idea. I have currently some Audio Quest plugs which I got at a random audio shop, but Linn Bananas would be nicer. Don't know if it makes a difference, but all Linn or all Naim cable properly terminated sounds just right to me.
But where to get linn knekt bananas in Netherlands!
Use proper Naim speaker connectors. Naim usually supply with the amps. I can't recall if the UQ2 also comes with suitable connectors.. If not, you can buy. Go for the straight on types that will fit best to the UQ2.
That swampy country?
Email a Linn Dealer. I bought my K20 cable from a Linn dealer in the place where the Dutch Public Broadcasting is hosted - not allowed to mention names here. They have great Naim experience by the way.
Standard Deltron banana plugs (available from Farnell / RS in the UK) will do the job fine.

Google to find a distributor in your country. Just make sure you can solder properly and cover the joint with heatshrink sleeving to make a tidy job.

I got my Naim connectors indeed for free with my SuperNait.

Is that place Hilversum?
Yes :-)
At BB&G?
Yes, they were at least Naim dealer, but don't know their current status. They have Naim and Linn stock.
What are BFAs, the don't fit a Unitiqute?
Are Linn Knekt available as BFA and banana?
BFA connectors are not compatible with any Naim amp (unless you deconstruct them, and not all will allow this), so stick with the official Naim plugs provided, or use good quality bananas or Z plugs.
Hi guys, I really want my speaker cables terminated with bananas like shown here: https://picclick.co.uk/Naim-NA...&gid=1&pid=2. Just some soldered banana and some crimped sleeves. Don't like the extra plastic of Deltron or Linn Knekt. But for what should I look for and where? What brand, are they on fleabay?

UQ2 does come with the required Naim banana plugs.
So does NAP 100
