XLD problems

Posted by: BigH47 on 24 April 2017

I'm coming back to XLD after my iMac replacement earlier in the year.

I have just  down loaded Version 20161007 (149.3) and so far have been unable to rip either of 2 recent CDs.

There's a version of dBpoweramp for Mac. Try a free trial? It's good.

For what it's worth I have the same version of XLD (running on macOS 10.12.4) and can rip without problems so I suspect it's not a problem inherent in XLD. I did buy dBpoweramp and switch to it because it's easier to use and more versatile. I can highly recommend it. If you try the free version, as suggested, that might at least narrow down the cause of the problem with XLD.

Thanks guys,

PowerAmp looks a little more complicated though. It did do a complete rip of the first CD I put in so a plus there. Now I need to find where the resultant file is, as I didn't see if there was a operator chosen option for it.

dBpoweramp has a user selection - on the dBp ripping screen see 'Path' on the box bottom left corner.   It lets you map the path from rip to your choice.     When I first ripped the CD collection I set the path direct to NAS,  but now I rip to a folder location on my laptop.   That way its easier (for me) to check tagging stuff before drag & drop to the NAS.
