sn2+nd5xs+ndac vs sn2+ndx+ndac

It is pretty much incredible that none here in the forum has ever really listened to this combo possibilities side by side and made a statement, how do they sound? Pretty simple. But, I will be waiting, not for long.
Best regards!
If you're going to be using the Naim DAC then i don't see the point in fronting it with a ND series streamer anymore. I'd be looking at using the Core.

So you don't use Tidal, Spotify or iRadio, then?
Good point (don't use streaming services myself). Doesn't the core provide this functionality or is it purely ripping, storage and serving ?
Perhaps the incredible thing is that you don't go and listen for yourself.

It's just the latter. Like the UnitiServe, but does even less. Yet for some odd reason people want to buy it.

And it's quite incredible that you've decided to dismiss so easily what I wrote in your response to your other, very similar post, several days ago.
What is even more incredible, is that if one were to use a search function on this forum, one would find a number of posts relating to exactly that topic.

Really ? Oh well looks like the OP will need a the Streamer after all. Ta HH.
It's incredible that the option of NDX, XPS DR and SN2 isn't being considered.
It's unbelievable that you aren't comparing against the Hugo as well. Incredibly, there are lots of posts about that too.
Skip the Naim DAC and get a Hugo.
Hey Adam,
Sorry about that... If I did not respond, my fault. But I want you to know that I really enjoy to read your opinions, because they make so very much sense. Sorry again ![]()
Wait a minute... can I Tidal with ndac and Core?

Well, I'd take a listen first. I have both, and they have different strengths. The performance of the Hugo is very good indeed (particularly for such modest money), but it's not perfect, and, while its bass is extended, agile and clean it lacks the almost visceral low end punch that the Naim DAC is capable of giving you, particularly when mated with a dedicated power supply.
Also bear in mind that because the Hugo was designed to be portable it can be a total PITA stuck in a rack with its tiny power switch, battery operation, input restrictions etc..

Doesn't look like it from the responses to my reply to your post.
Thank you all. Best regards.
Incredible that the OP has generated so many near identical threads, and even more Incredible that it has induced HH to introduce the H word on this one...

I never found the power switch, battery or inputs to be a 'PITA', not in the slightest: I just left it on most of the time, as many people do with a lot of gear, while input connectivity is only limiting for people with more than one each of optical, SPDIF and usb - however that said, one thing that was irritating was it resetting its input on the occasions when I did turn it off, so unless using the default input (was it the usb?) it was necessary to reselect on powering up. Also of possible significance for anyone accustomed to a remote wanting to switch inputs or needing to use its volume control (e.g running direct into a power amp) is that the original model doesn't have a remote control (I believe fixed with H2).
