Nac 272 / power amp connection.

Hi,

I've had a 272 on trial recently, and it's time to move it on.

The "What comes with what" guide here on the forum hasn't yet caught up with the 272, and this one didn't arrive here with the cables needed to connect to a power amp, which didn't matter, as I was using an external power supply.

So, does the 272 come with the required cable(s)?

Either way, assuming the cable(s) to be Din / Din, what's the pin configuration, either end.

I've emailed Phil Harris earlier, but in the meantime, any info from you chaps would be great.

Dave, The 272 doesn't come with an interconnect for power amp. Just the power cord. As the interconnect varies depending on which power amp you are pairing the 272 with it wouldn't make sense to supply it with it. The applicable Naim interconnect comes with the amp.

Mine came with Din-XLR for both a 250 & 300.

I think it was a stereo Din/XLR & 2 mono Din/XLR's one with a red and one with a green collar. It is a dealer dem model though so they may have just thrown them in.

It would be strange for them not to be standard I'd have thought.

They do throw them in as standard, only with the power amp, not the preamps. That way, you get the right one.

Likewise: in my case the 272 had no interconnects, the 300 had two mono 4 pin DIN to XLR cables, one for each channel.

I then replace the standard cables with DIY cables made from Mogami W2549.

Hi,

Phil Harris has just confirmed that, as mentioned above, the cable required to connect pre / power comes with the power amp.
