Power & signal

I have 200 amp, 202 pre-amp, CD5 XS, FLATCAP XS, HICAP, NAPSC & HEADLINE. What is the best way to connect and power up all at same time?Currently I have HICAP powering 202, signal between 200 & 202, FLATCAP powering CD5XS & 202 aux (lights), NAPSC powering Headline, signal from 202 tape out to Headline. Tried NAPSC powering 202 aux with FLATCAP XS powering Headline, but no sound came from headline!?

Additionally, when I add a stageline, how do I best connect up to have all powered and would I need an additional cable (SNAIC?)

Yours confused

Firstly, you need to ensure that with the 202/200 and Hicap that you have a SNAIC5 between NAC202 and Hicap and then take the pre-amp signal from the Hicap to the NAP200.  There should be no direct connection between 202 and 200 here. Performance is compromised if so, and may even result in damage to the equipment.

Also, it's worth using the NAPSC on the NAC202 - here it powers the logic circuits and keeps things quiet on the analogue circuits.

Use the Flatcap XS on the CD5xs and on the Headline (you will need a SLIC lead here).  If you add a Stageline you can use the poweredAUX2 socket on the 202.  Better, buy a dedicated power supply for the Stageline.

Thanks, yes, HICAP is between 200/202, no direct connection (mistake in my description).

I had the NAPSC powering logic of the 202, and FLATCAP between and powering 200/202 & Headline (with SLIC) before getting HICAP & CD5xs. Then when these two added, as described in first post (no 200/202 direct connection), the headline had no sound! So had to make the FLATCAP power CD5xs & 202 logic and NAPSC to power the headline...why did't headline work other way around (it had power, just no sound).

So, when I add the stageline, it cannot be powered by the HICAP at same time as 200/202? And FLATCAP xs has no additional power output once powering CD5xs & 200/202 logic?

They don't make this easy do they....

You must use the napsc to power the 202, together with the Hicap.

Then connect the headline as shown in the picture below, using the flatcap.
