NAP 150 + Flatcap 2 or NAP200 powering NAC282 with NDX

Posted by: reAnimate on 29 April 2017

I've got a NAC282, NDX, NAP150 and Flatcap 2 at the moment.

I'd like to drop to three boxes ideally.

Would a NAP200 work out better then the existing?

Thanks.

NDX/282/200DR works very nicely for me. I haven't made the comparison, but I'd hazard a guess that you could lose the Flatcap and still find an improvement. Less so with a non-DR 200, as the DR spec only applies to the preamp PSU.

The short answer is yes. I think Richard Dane mentioned a 200 preamp supply is on par with a flatcap, and 200 as a power amp over a 150 is no contest having lived with both for years. A 200dr would probably add even more but I've not heard one.

NAP 200dr would be excellent.

Yes it would, and I'm sure it would be worth the extra over a used 200.
