laptop uPNP client connect to UnitiServe?

Hi All,

Is there anything proprietary about the way that Uniti players connect to the UnitiServe?

I am trying to make either a Macbook or Win laptop connect to stream music from my UnitiServe over uPNP.

I am using VLC as the client on the laptops. They can discover the UnitiServe, but then cannot browse down the file structure or see any of the content.

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks

What are the file format(s) that VLC is trying to read - do you know? Probably codec.

All files are in .wav format ripped from CD.

my internet research suggests VLC has the correct codec for these built in?

If you find the Unitiserve music folder on your Mac, you can browse it and select music, and open it in VLC, which will then play it. Technically, that may not be UPnP, but it works.

Mapping the UnitiServe as a drive worked a treat thanks :-)
