Joan Shelley 'Joan Shelley'. First album of the year contender?

Nothing I have bought this year so far has pleased like this lovely singer-songwriter folk/country album. Produced by Jeff Tweedy, and with subtle musical assistance from his friends, nothing ever dominates her luminous voice. Better than the 'Over and Even' from 2015, with a more varied palette.

Try if you like Gillian Welch, Luluc or even Sandy Denny as there is a definite British folk lilt at times.

A beautiful album. Certainly a contender for 'Hi-Fi' album of the year - stunning production work from Jeff Tweedy.
