N272 Sample rate

Posted by: SimonJ on 13 May 2017

When I play music via the internal streaming app the screen displays the sample rate of the file, is there a similar feature for displaying sample rate on the coax or optical inputs? Just want to try my Bluesound and Mini Mac, but can't find a way to prove what sample rate they are outputting.

Have you tried pressing disp a few times on the remote?

Disp just toggles the display on and off.

i (info) doesn't do anything with an S/Pdif input.

I can't find a way to display that either.

Only info on NAS playback files will be displayed i.e sample rate and bith depth.

Ok thanks, so I'm not going mad. Shame really, would be a nice reassuring feature

I may have solved this in case anyone else is interested or wants to know for themselves. If whilst playing a digital source you go into setup, go to 'factory settings' and go to 'system status' in here there's a field that shows the sample rate. If I leave it on that screen and then go to my Bluesound Node 2 and pick a Hi-Res streaming source from Qobuz or a Tidal master I see the sample rate change to what I expect to see which is a good check to ensure you're getting what you think output and processed by the Naim.

Its the same on NDX,  its showing whatever bitrate the streamer is playing.
