Naim app problems.

Posted by: dave marshall on 23 May 2017

I'm running the latest version, (5.6) on my iPad, and am finding that, once an album has finished playing, if I leave the app on "standby" and don't select the next album more or less straight away, it drops the connection to my HDX, which is acting as UPnP server to my NDS.

The only way to sort things is to shut down the app and restart, since scrolling backwards through the open app and reselecting the UPnP input does not resolve the problem.

Seems to be happening only since updating the app.

Not the end of the world, but still mildly annoying .............. any ideas?

Yeah I've noticed this. You can go into the settings menu. Other settings and check the stay connected option. This might work. Not yet had the time to test it myself.

Dave - do you use the function 'stay connected' in 'Other settings'?

Hi Guys,

Yup, "Stay Connected" already ticked ............. the weird thing is that it's only started happening since updating the app.

P.S. Adam, congrats on that new guitar,  looks great!

P.S Finkfan ......... your avatar suggests you're a fan .......... can't believe I've only recently discovered this guy ............ brilliant!

Got tickets to see him in Manchester in November.

If the app drops it's connection unexpectedly, I've never found 'stay connected' to make any difference.

I have the same issue usually if I leave the app open but use the ipad to browse the interweb. The behaviour is intermittent and often depends on how long I'm inactive on the app.

Hey Chaps,

Don't want to jump the gun here, but, having upgraded the app, and seeing "stay connected" still ticked, I assumed all ought to be ok.

So, ..................... what I've done is unselect it, close the app, re-open, then reselect, and .............. ey caramba, all seems to be well.

It would appear that, in upgrading the app, the most obvious setting are retained ............... all except this one, it seems.

Phew!

Glad that it's sorted
