Thin Speaker Cable

Posted by: Sweeney Denis on 10 June 2017

I've just moved house and the one compromise I need to make it on speaker cabling.  I'm looking for any suggestions for a good quality thin white cable that would work well with my  Super Uniti & Focal Aria 926's. Only require about 2.5 metres each side.

Thank you

Chord Odyssey II with Naim plugs will fit your requirements nicely. As for the sonic result, you'll have to decide. I've tried the Chord cable and it was good, but I found NACA5 better in a Naim system.

Just how thin does it really need to be? If you're desperate for something really thin, Chord Sarsen is better than you might think for £8 a metre, but your system might still be held back by it. Audioquest FLX/Slip is fairly thin, but very flexible, making cable routing easy if that's an issue.

(I rather like a certain thin round cable made to match Naim amps, but which I'm not allowed to discuss it here because the manufacturer also does unauthorised mod's to Naim amps.)

FWIW (if your listening room is carpeted), two of my friends with Super Lumina cable have hidden it from view by cutting channels in carpet underlay.

Chord Campana. Thin, cheap*, good sounding and fits everywhere.

(*I mean £3 per meter, and doing justice to your system.)

Thanks everyone for all your helpful suggestions - I'll be looking all the cables mentioned.
