Photobucket Alternatives

All Photobucket has stopped publishing the pictures on here and now request a monthly fee for that service - what are you guys using as service for displaying your pictur s ?
I just search the album on Amazon and then right mouse click 'copy location of this image' and past that into 'insert/edit image'.
Regards, Jeroen.

Thanks for the tip - however only works for things which are also offered by Amazon....
Tried it out - couldn't get it to work...
Hi Bert, It works for every image that you can see in your browser. I don't know if you use the Dutch language in your browser. If you do then you should select 'kopieer locatie van afbeelding'. When you select 'insert/edit image' you should paste the URL in the source box. Hope this helps.

....with my iPad....
Ah, I always use my Imac for this. So I don't have any experience with this on the iPad.
I've just uploaded this using my iPad....
It's a fine album by the way.
I've found that I'm getting so many adverts with Photobucket, and pop ups saying I've been selected to win an iPad, that posting pictures is becoming a bit painful, so I've virtually stopped posting albums. It still works though, however it takes a few tries sometimes.
I get lots of irritating pop-up ads with Photobucket but it is still letting me upload images and post the links. Maybe the free version of Photobucket has a capacity limit and you've reached it, Bert.
All software is going to monthly fees, Quicktime Pro, Acrobat and all other Adobe Design software. Just read an article in business section that it has made a lot of money for adobe. I'd want Image shack for my personal photos to post here but that's complicated too. Not sure if they've gone monthly or not. It is just an occasional thing for me.

That happened to me once. It was so much easier when we just typed the name of the album.

I agree it's easier. It's also more efficient. But our brain's usually respond better to pictures than words. For example, which has the greater impact:
"For Your Pleasure"
or
Nuff said?
Bert,
You can always google the artist's and album's name than select the image for it and post it here.

Just tried that out for one it worked the other doesn't show the album, so not reliable as it seems
Seems to work with save and hen copy....or ?

I just copy the image at Amazon and paste it here using the "mountain" button above (or below)
I use Flickr on other forums but I am not that happy with it and I can not get a picture to post on this forum to save my life.

It works 99% of the times. Google the stuff, then click on images on top of the page. A whole page of images will open and then you select one and click on it. It will open and on the right side you will have a choice to view the image or the page. Select the image and you can get the URL to use. The only time it doesn't work is if the image was withdrawn in the meantime for some reason. Most of the times you get more than one choice for a particular image (of different sizes) so you can choose another one.
I've found the po-up ads make Photobucket irritating on a compoter, and impossible on iOS. Presumably this is intentional, which seems disingenuous and will make me look elsewhere rather than pay a fee for future use.
On iOS, I found a simple free app called iPicit.net which seems to work well.
I search for the album in Google and go to the images tab, and select one of appropriate size using the "Copy image location" function and post the URL it gives in the add photo functionality here..
The only ones that never appear here are from Discogs, so I don't use the image if that is where it is from.
I only use Photo bucket for my personal photos such as for system pics, etc.
Just did this one from PB so not sure what you mean about charging - the second I have to pay I am off...not worth it. I literally only use it for posting personal pics here.
I still have Photobucket for free but as HH said I also get a lot of advertising and pop ups.
When posting a CD or Vinyl album I google it and "copy image location" using <control> "click" and then paste it in the replay using the insert/edit image icon (mountain), when posting an album replayed by A+ (streaming or local render) I just take a photo of the Iphone screen and upload it with the Photobucket app and do the same as before to paste it in the post replay.

Thanks - but that's my issue Photobucket doesn't work anymore for me. And function like ctrl don't work on an iPad. I refuse to put on a computer to post my listening experience. It seems to work by googling the picture. Then first save it and copy it after that. In some way I then seem to be able to publish and have it show up on the forum. All a bit cumbersome.....

It works for now - every time you call the app you see however an add playing...., thanks...

…and Bandcamp or Juno.
I use Imgur.
Upload any pic to Imgur; copy the direct link (ending .jpg etc) and paste in the insert image box.
Works fine. Free.
