Broken

Not another case of a Unitiserve HD failure. Rather I would like to praise Sean Bean's gritty drama about the travails of a Catholic priest up North. Excellent fare and the kind of thing that at one time I feared the Beeb had abandoned altogether.

Must agree, it's certainly very gritty,  So far death, suicide, shooting and physical abuse...Unfortunately also somewhat depressing ..

We gave up after episode 1 SB seemed so wooden and the other characters didn't catch on with us.

Yes it was a slow starter and I am not a fan of SB usually but his performance and the story has gained a lot of depth as the series has progressed.

Sean Bean proves to me yet again what a good actor he is, I remember him in another drama where he cross dressed as a woman, very convincing in his role.

Well we have just watched the final episode which proved to be a suitably rousing end. I was in floods of tears when he conducted the funeral for his mother and the whole series showed how faith can help in times of adversity.
