Dear members,
Just like Jarl his unitiqute in 2016, my Unitiqute 1 display died about two weeks ago. Now, besides the fact that I paid EUR 1900 for this product 5 years ago, I find it particularly strange that a company as Naim would jeopardize its reputation by giving such technology (oled) a chance in their products. They study every wire that goes into their products but not the displays?
The retailer told me that it would cost approx. EUR 350 to replace the display! Just so that the members know how much it would cost. A considerable amount for such an expensive product. Before it died, I was thinking about buying the Atom but I truly (not a rant, just my feeling) question the quality Naim is putting on the market right now.
Any alternatives that members can give me at the same price point? I appreciate all replies.
Best, Giliam

Giliam, sorry to hear your display has failed. It seems that it can sometimes happen with OLEDs - I guess it's a trade off as I believe that there are big advantages performance wise, other types of display being much noisier. Was your display always on? It's a good idea to set OLEDs to switch off after a few minutes (you can set this in the menu). I do have a few other items that use OLEDs - probably for the same performance reasons Naim use them - but unlike the Naim kit they don't have the option to switch off the display after a short period of time. That's a worry...

It's quite frustrating when it happen especially to Naim equipment. My UQ2 dead after nearly 18 months of usage. I am fine as I still can control the apps installed on my phone/ipad when listening to music. The only thing is that the apps does not have the Setup functions.
I would suggest if Naim could update the "Setup" functions into the apps rather than sending the unit for parts replacement.
Cheers
