cdx2 not more produced
Posted by: French Rooster on 16 July 2017
i read on a discussion that a naim dealer said" the cdx2 is no longer produced ". If it is true, it is sad, the cdx2/xps2 is perhaps the most enjoyable cd player which exists, with a prat and urgency to be damned for, and with a very competitive price. I sold mine 1 year ago, but regret a bit. True or fake?
It is still on the website today, which may not mean much. I seem to remember that a trade member mentioned the CD555 no longer being orderable before it was off the website.
i hope it is a fake...
Why did you sell it ?

My CDX2 is about to depart - it's power supply left yesterday. As of next week it's only streamers and two turntables left
Happy days...

If you Google "isopropyl alcohol record cleaning" and read the Discogs result there are a variety of pieces of advice. These give extra advice to the last few here. The double clean first with IPA and then L'Art du Son is certainly what Terry recommends.
I've just listened to the du Pre Elgar on vinyl and CD. I couldn't choose which I prefer now the SL IC is on the phono as well as the nDAC.
So [@mention:61965734410701809] enjoy getting your Bauer TT giving that CDX2 wow.
{{Talking with my dealer he said Naim no longer supply the CDX2.}}!!!!!!
He says the CD5 XS offers the same transport and spdif interface, albeit with a DAC that is not as good as the CDX2. I bought mine as a clearance at less than the cost of the CD5 XS.
Phil
Did I read that correctly!
""Talking with my dealer he said Naim no longer supply the CDX2""
CD 555, now the CDX2!
Allante93!
It might very well be true. I cannot imagine that they sell much of them these days, so just have a few of them on stock which is sufficient for the next years.
Not being produced is quite different from not being sold anymore.

Adam has nothing to do with it. The question relates to the OP, who is not Adam.
CDX2 is still shown in www Naim products listing, where did you hear/read it was not produced.

Look a few posts up the thread and there's a quoted conversation with Filipe (I think) reporting a conversation with his dealer.

You got it Eoink!
I think the OP of this Thread is Pierre!
I thought Adam M was affiliated with Naim, whilst Adam Z, was dumping his Cdx2 Mk II, to secure Naim's top tier streamer, and hoId on to his two TTs!
@ Analog, just thought you were referring to
Adam Z!
My Bad!
Allante93!
I don't think Naim keeps any stock of black box units, so once something is no longer made by Naim you have pretty well only the demonstration units at dealers, if there are any still, and second hand units. Maybe the odd new boxed unit in stock in the dealer network somewhere.
best

Allante !
Not sure I can understand many of your posts !
Hope it gets better, before it gets the to point of any of your posts not being understood !
Keler Pierre, running a non-naim preamp into a naim power amp, isn't going to get the best results, as you have in an well meaning, but uninformed way, bypassed the core earthing principles of Naim amplifiers. The Naim preamp and poweramp are really best when paired together, that is how these were designed in Salisbury. currently you are using a valve preamp into a NAP 300...
A chat with a knowledgeable dealer should be a good use of your time.
If this is true I just hope they keep enough components in stock to maintain existing units... particularly for those of us whose devices are still within their 5yr guarantee period.
