Stageline - delay?

Posted by: NFG on 19 July 2017

Ive been waiting for a Stageline for four weeks, dealer has been contacting Naim frequently but no news yet.

Not impressed by Naims inability to supply a relatively simple piece of kit.

I shall be passing Salisbury on Friday & could collect it if it were ready.

Bizarre. Complaining about complaining.

Well said HH. I posted earlier this morning on a similar 'whingey' thread elsewhere on the forum. I wish the doom and gloomers were as swift to praise as they are to knock. Strange how few of them ever seem to get off their backsides and vote with their feet. Guess it all comes down to how little effort it takes to fire off the moan to a forum.

Ahhh the irony.....Someone whinging about the whingers

Posted on: 20 July 2017 by Emre

it is a scientific fact that negative customer experiences are 50% more likely to be shared..... so it is a proven fact that you will find more " moaning " on the screen than whats good....

Someone might say that if you don't like it then start focus whats good in your life and stop moaning online about it

The expectation management is the key, if they give @NFG 5 weeks waiting time when he orders there will be no problems, if they don't give any timing of delivery then the issues is a potential problem, every body can have a different expectation on what is " reasonable " time for a stage line to be delivered.......

Statistics might indicate that negative experiences are more likely to be shared,  but its not a scientific fact

Ok. It wasn’t aimed at the administrators, perhaps I should have used the term “self appointed" commissars

Assuming that's aimed at me, I'd say that I wouldn't presume to appoint myself to anything. All I'm saying is that it's really tedious to see incessant whinging and moaning. There's enough on Facebook for that. If someone has a problem with a delivery, speak to the dealer, speak to Naim. What does moaning on the Forum achieve? Do people want Naim employees hanging from the walls of Salisbury Cathedral like a scene from The Handmaid's Tale?

Commissars is plural, and it was used in what I thought was a humorous context, sadly removed, presumably because one of the administrators mistakenly thought it was aimed at them.

I wonder who that was?.

What I find tedious, is incessant whinging and moaning about other members posts. Although it seems popular at the moment, we’ve even got a dedicated thread for that specific purpose.

Is NFG a habitual whinger/moaner or was it a first offence.

Proposal - split the forum in two; half empty and half full, then at least the more optimistic, contributors wouldn't need to trawl through the doom and gloom postings.

Hi NFG,

As far as I am aware there are no supply issues with either StageLine N or StageLine S units from this end - both are showing here as available "off the shelf".

You're registered as being in the south of France but if you can drop me an email to support@naimaudio.com letting me know which dealer the StageLine has been ordered through I will try to trace what is happening with the French distributor.

Best Regards

So, looks as though a simple, polite enquiry via phone or email direct to Naim would have circumvented all this public, unnecessary angst. HH hits nail on head yet again!

NFG hit the nail as well, he will get his stageline sooner thanks to the forum.....

Posted on: 20 July 2017 by jon h

i'd go second hand for a stageline, to be honest.

sometimes it works out well to talk to Naim directly. actually most of the time

All I can do is find out what's happening internally - whether it's been ordered etc. ... I can't expedite units.

I recently ordered a Rega P3.  Got it in about a week.  Then I ordered a Rega DAC-R.  Got it in about a week.  I can go on Amazon and order a Chord Mojo and have it delivered in four days.  I can go on MusicDirect and order the ATC 7s, 11s, 19s or 40s and they'll ship tomorrow.  Kind of puts things in perspective.

I waited 8 weeks for my ATC11's - yep, I wanted a white pair, but the quoted delivery time was two weeks.  Bit of a pain but not anything to write about until now - in as much these things happen and generally get settled and fade into distant memory

No angst from NFG

As far I can make out, (I've actually read and understood the OP), he's not happy with delayed delivery and asking if he can collect from Salisbury on Friday if stock available.

My point was that it may have been better to enquire direct of Naim rather than a forum, nowithstanding Phil picked it up and made the enquiry on his behalf. Not worth pursuing further.

Hi FC,

The original post was "Not impressed by Naims inability to supply a relatively simple piece of kit." ... now, I'm happy to look into the OPs order to see what's happening if NFG gives me the details of who it was ordered but that doesn't mean I can either expedite it or bypass the local distributor / dealer and change the ordering and supply process.

It won't be possible to just drop in and collect from Salisbury - especially if it is a unit for an export order - but I will look into what's happening with it if we get the details of who it was ordered through...

Doesn't surprise me given the unusual finish.  Btw, how do you like the white?  I looked at it online but it was hard to get a feel from the pictures for how it would look in person.

I'd say the OP is actually the one who got it right.  Now Phil Harris is on the case for him and is somebody who can get some answers.  Plus we have all learned something incremental which is that the issue is not inventory levels at Naim HQ but likely some bottleneck in the distribution chain instead.

Hi,

We do have people here at Naim who are there to support the customers with anything that they need - the details for contacting us are on the right hand side here or in the stickies above and we can be contacted directly for help and assistance by email or phone.

There is no problem with people posting for support up here but we don't spend the day specifically looking through the forums so unless something that is posted is flagged up to us or we perchance happen to see it whilst looking at something else (as I did in this instance) then it is quite possible that a request for support that could be answered in minutes if we were contacted directly might go unseen and unanswered (or worse - answered with the best of intentions by a forum member but with incorrect information).

If someone is looking for assistance with a specific problem (which in this case was an issue with an order) then the best way to get us is to contact us directly by phone or email.

Best

Phil

It's ok and suits my decor. I have white Atacama stands as well. Would have loved a highly polished piano white lacquer but alas they don't do that (would have cost a whole lot more as well)
