Stageline - delay?
Posted by: NFG on 19 July 2017
Ive been waiting for a Stageline for four weeks, dealer has been contacting Naim frequently but no news yet.
Not impressed by Naims inability to supply a relatively simple piece of kit.
I shall be passing Salisbury on Friday & could collect it if it were ready.
People who ordered hugo 2 6-7 months ago just start to recive their dacs, these people paid in full
same for polly and blu2
Complete disaster
so chord is not perfect also
I'd have to agree and despite all the doom and gloom, I have to report a recent very positive experience with a Naim. My dealer noticed that my new Focal Sopras were less than pristine when installed. Said dealer (the wonderful James of St Albans) worked with Naim to exchange the speakers which were delivered to my home in Sussex and set up by Jason and a fellow Naim colleague last a Friday. Fabulous service and a reminder of why I've been brand loyal for the best part of 25 years.
I won't hear a bad word said about them sorry and those positive experiences also include the 2 hours Phil Harris spent on line on a Friday evening with me a while back setting up my QNAP as this dummy had screwed things up. For those who like to snipe there are always other manufacturers![]()
...and they still service my 90s vintage NAT01!
Patience is a virtue as my old Granny used to say - I've also been waiting for 6 months for some new furniture - why do I wait? Craftsmanship! Must be a parallel there![]()
I booked a holiday over a year ago and have yet to go on it.

I think Naim would be pleased with 6 months. We're almost at 10 months and still not at even shipping stage.

I've been paying for my pension for decades - I don't want Phil to arrange for that to arrive more quickly though ![]()
Agreed, I got mine used from a dealer, with a guarantee for buttons

+1 for the help that Phil Harris gives. Has helped me sort out NAS and network issues with my HDX on more than one occasion and a pleasure to deal with him :-)

Plus we have all learned something incremental which is that the issue is not inventory levels at Naim HQ but likely some bottleneck in the distribution chain instead.
I agree, NFG hit the nail on the head. He posted his issue on the forum and got a positive response thanks to Phil Harris. At the same time he learned there may be better routes to address similar matters in the future. Most of the in between was pissing and moaning about pissing and moaning.
Responses by some folks here intent on asserting their views as to what constitutes 'appropriate' forum content (with extensions to a person's ability to cope with life) read far more impertinent than the original post.
Joe, you said to someone on another post that you will respond as you like and don't need others tellling you what to do, or something similar, so I will say the same to you. If I want to moan about people moaning I jolly well will, and you can like it or lump it. It's not my place to say what is appropriate content, and neither is it yours, and I will say what I like thanks.

Beat me to it!
This is all FAKE NEWS, don't think yup can fool me.
a post about a delay, gets a bit nasty, and Phil saves the day by saying no delay in Salisbury!
Nice try guys, you can't fool me and Donald.

Must have heard some ringing in your ears Nigel? Perhaps you could read through this and the alluded to thread again in entirety from an objective perspective. See the intent of the original posts, their potential ends, how they get bent, and the truly constructive input in between.
I have no doubt you'll say what you like. Your copious responses here vehemently display that without bound. Constructive responses might be more the matter than banter.
You, as first responder to this post (read it again) don't see your response as a directive to what's appropriate on a public form?

Kettle calling pot black?
Actually, no I don't see that at all. I was simply feeling bored with people moaning.
I have asked 2 eminent retired judges to do a full judicial review of this thread and find all the relevant facts. In light of this I think it would be best to keep this tread talking about the sonic benefits of the stage line until the judges make their ruling.

Making of a good Monty Python sketch
Well, if nothing else, it's nice to see a Stageline thread still making it to two pages..
It's getting even more bizarre.
Criticizing the OP for his thread content, now insisting they can say what they want.
so can we moan in the forum or not ?
but wait can we moan about moaning also?
but wait again, can we moan about the moaning about moaning..... *!+%&'+'^+'...
i lost it....

...but seriously guys, can we all play nicely?
I get bouquets and brickbats on here so yes, I know it can get to feel a bit like people are taking a swing and sometimes it can feel a bit 'unfair' but if we can keep it from getting out of hand between ourselves and avoid things getting moderated then that would be cool?
(Group hugs)

Hi Guys,
Thanks - we do try our best and hopefully mainly manage to sort things out ... it's not always possible and there are lots of people (that you don't normally get to see) beavering away in the background on the stuff that Steve and I can't resolve ourselves.
The thing that I would *REALLY* like to try and get over though is that it's always better - if you have an issue - to actually get hold of us directly ... we are only human and we simply cannot patrol all the posts and threads on here looking for people posting issues, possibly in the middle of other threads, and managing issues and problems via the forums is an absolute nightmare (no, it's not that we are wanting to keep anything quiet or hidden, it's just very difficult to keep track of things in amongst loads of other posts).
We really do want to help you - we choose to do the job that we do because its what we enjoy doing - but please help us to help you ... if you see someone asking for assistence and it's the kind of thing that would be best asked of us then please can you point them towards us - that way we can get them sorted out effectively.
Cheers
Phil

I really do feel we need to get the following cleared up.
- moaning is allowed
- moaning about moaning is allowed (but not always tolerated)
- moaning about moaning about moaning while allowed is rarely tolerated.
- moaning about moaning about moaning about moaning is BANNED.
