Duff interconnect?

Posted by: Simon C on 24 July 2017

Good evening,

Brand new Shawline RCA to Din is humming like a bird.

A quick continuity check shows:

left RCA central pin is connected to Din Ch1

right RCA central pin connected to Din Ch2

outer collars of both RCA not connected to any Din pin or Din collar.

outer collars of both RCAs show continuity with each other.

Is it safe to assume the hum is due to the -ve not being connected in the Din or am I missing something?

Incorrect design or incorrect construction...  Yes that'll be the source of the hum.

As per the title - Duff cable.

Get Duff Man from 'The Simpsons' to fix it, 'cause likely it was Homer wot made it!

Must have been made by some Krusty Clown. The Margeinal quality control striking a dischord. How can you get a piece of wire wrong? Blinky stupid if you ask me.

I've learnt my lisan. Have to wait for the replacement before I Burns it in.
