Upgrade dilemma

A lot depends on how long it is since the boxes were serviced. If it's more than ten years then this should be top priority. If it were me I'd service the hicap, buy a serviced 250 and sell the rest. Passive 250 will be better than active 140s. 

I agree wholeheartedly that you've posited a real dilemma, a loaded question. The problem from a standpoint of meaningful advice here is that there are really too many variables involved and it's too complex a question to get useful feedback. Plus we don't know what's in your wallet or where you're headed.

I'd say focus on what you want to obtain from an upgrade. Try to isolate whether the source, PSUs or speakers are the limiting factor to your ears and maybe seek input from a dealer willing to offer boxes on demo for comparison in your room. 

All that said, your system at optimum ought to give you quality replay whether with Credos or SBLs, so I'd look last at your speakers as the crux.

I would say a priorty would be to have all the Olive components serviced first. My old 72 / HC / 250 went in for an overdue service last year. Sings like new.

Once the servicing is done, you could start looking at some speakers.

Where do you want to end up? 2x250s and SBLs would be rather nice for example. In which case follow the advice of Nigel (HH).

Lovely system! Obvious weak part: Credos IMHO. I owned most of Naims speakers but had not much love for the Credos. Could never get myself to really like them and rate them low on my Naim scale :-)
