Disappearing Alerts

Last time I looked there were 160+ but now it says 10.
Where did they all go?

I feel a bit caught in the middle. I'm happy enough to receive emails when threads I'm following are updated, as it helps me remember to check stuff, allows quickly seeing what's been said on my phone without going to the full forum site, and so on.
But I prefer on-site alerts to be restricted to likes received and that sort of thing, because that kind of event is less frequent.
But the available options don't seem to allow for what I want any more. It's either getting umpteen alerts because they now show all followed thread activity, or nothing. This means what I want to use the on-site alerts for is impossible because it's inundated by stuff I don't want to use the alerts for.
Maybe I'm missing some combination of settings, but thus far not chuffed with Hoopla's latest update.

I've experienced the same frustration. Now getting alerts for 'replies' as well as 'likes'. I can't see on the setting how to discriminate between the two.
There are two layers of notification settings. Make sure you carefully go through both layers and on the second layer click on both tabs.
Done that, Richard. The issue is that in the 2nd tab the only available relevant tick box is 'email me when someone replies to content I follow'.
There's no box for 'send me an on site alert when someone replies to content I follow' to *un*-tick.
