app / android pad issue

Spent the last hour or so getting a little frustrated. My app on my android pad states "app version 2.0"

Trying to find if I have the latest version or not, or if I can do anything to solve my issue?

Switch on pad, launch app uPnP\MinimServer\albums - scroll to album to play etc. all works fine BUT

While listening screensaver closes screen down, or I press button on pad to do the same, when I press again to 'reignite' the screen and choose another album MOST of the time the little wheel just turns and turns, or it launches but 'Minimserver' has vanished & I have to switch pad off & on again to use app

Can anyone tell me where to start looking to resolve this infuriating issue?

My system is NAS > NDX wired via Netgear switch, I do not think it used to be quite as bad as now previously, perhaps I am mistaken?
