Uniti Series Network Player

Yes, I know the whole idea behind the Uniti series is that they are all-in-one components. But while I love the design and features of the Uniti series, I'm really just looking for a network player to integrate into an existing system. Of course Naim does offer network players in the Classic Series and the XS series. But those models are getting a bit long in the tooth. And while some may prefer the aesthetics of the other series, I prefer the case design of the Uniti components. So here's hoping that the Uniti series will expand to include a network player - basically the Nova minus the pre and power amp features.

I think it will be a very long wait indeed! It's such a small niche, if Naim did it, the cost would probably be higher than a proper Nova. The cost saving from leaving the pre-amp and power amp components out of the box would be trivial and there would be all the development, inventory and support costs of a separate model to spread over a small number of units.

The way to go is probably to buy an Atom and use its pre-out to feed into whatever amplifier you want. Or buy a pre-owned classic streamer while you wait.

As I understand it, the new technology of the Uniti range will eventually make its way into the classic range streamers, but retaining the existing triptych style, albeit with a better screen.
