Snaxo BMR Happiness in a non-Fraimed environment

I've come to understand that the 'happiness' of the Snaxo is very important for the performance of my Active Ovator setup.

I cannot have a Fraim stack in my room (I have handbuild / solid wood cupboard + bookshelfs) and I was thinking to put the Snaxo on a turntable shelf fixed to the wall. This would isolate the Snaxo for micro vibrations etc of the Poweramps (Nap 200's) / Hicap.

Anyone tried this? Any further recommendation?

My regular snaxo resides on a wallmounted shelf. I am sure this is the optimal placement even with a fraim where I could place it, but that would be close to my NDac, I could try to place the Ndac on the shelf and that would make it possible to free the Fraim from all equipmented with internal powersupplies, but I understand that people would advice against this.

Snaxo placement is indeed rather critical in an Active system.

I've found placing it as far from large power transformers as possible and on its own shelf to be very worthwhile.
In my case it is a tall-level Fraim atop my three NAP500 DR Amps stack. You may also find that position on the shelf itself quite important to get the best performance; in my case somewhere near the middle works best and it is rather obvious to locate the right spot as the sound snaps into place when it is correct.

Also the Supercap supply for the Snaxo location is important to get right. Give it some space from other large transformers in other supplies and the sound will open-out better - I use a Medium level to give more space from the nearest 500PS unit and that is very worthwhile; on a medium level it is more murky.

Experiment is best. The 'floaty' BMR snaxo box benefits from being on a heavy stack with its own shelf, whereas I found the non-floaty ones preferred a lighter stack or their own light shelf. I think this down to what stack resonances the sub-chassis better works with.

All this was an annoying discovery several years back, but if you get it right then the Active performance can surprise you.

...for a wall-shelf I'd want Snaxo on it's own small shelf, preferably a bit of glass a bit larger than the Snaxo but not as large as the Fraim glass that has to also be able to take the larger boxes. My experiments lead me to believe that a shelf about 2/3 size of fraim glass would be about right in giving the right amount or out of band isolation without acting as a sounding-board.

It is something that I may even do myself one day, but you have to hit the right wall position with respect to all the other kit and required cable lengths, which is why it is currently in the Fraim stack.

Thanks folks. My conclusion is that a dedicated wall mounted shelf is the way to go. I'm going to think about it. For some reason I have concrete in mind. Heavy, and it could simply be custom made on a proper size for the snaxo so that it won't act as a soundboard.
