'No Room Found'

Posted by: IWC Doppel on 12 August 2017

I see this more than anything else. I am using a Uniqute 2 and have a fully networked house and a number of wifi devices that all work seamlessly, but not with the naim app..... I am often, like now sat in my office next to my Uniqute and have my iPad mini in front of me... No Room found.... I open another app, which sometimes works, then go back to the main app. I sometimes turn it off, that sometimes works, today I have to go and get my phone in the hope of listening to anything.

If this was software for anything else I'd junk it... Its a truly poor app and very fragile, come on naim help us out....

It's not that bad...

Can I suggest that you delete the app completely and upload it again? We've found during the Beta testing that upgrades to new versions (as opposed to a full, clean upload) may lead to the symptoms you've described.
The process helps to clean iPad's cache memory (hopefully I undestood correctly).

If you phone them, they will. This is a public forum for discussion, not a technical support service.

I agree with Adam,  its not that bad.    I've been thru the frustrations of this in beta testing,  it may have faltered at the first attempt but it always worked on the 2nd attempt.      The new rev 5.7.4 released this week compared to previous releases has been solid,  it might give a quick flash after an iPad off period before opening to Home Screen,  but that's all.  And yes,  per Adam,  a clean install is helpful,  delete the app,  force an iOS restart & reinstall.

So do you have 5.7.4 ?    How is your system connected?  all ethernet,  part wireless,  wireless hub make/model,  switch ???

Okay, I will delete the app and try again. My wireless install ha zero issues and I have ethernet via a managed switch to 5 routers around the house. No drop outs on any other items or the internet.

Do you really mean that you have five routers? Only one should be set to allocate IP addresses, or the network will get in a right muddle.

I guess he means five Wireless Access Points.

I would suggest the first thing to try after the reinstall suggestions already made is temporarily connecting the UQ2 by Ethernet to the managed switch. Also I'm a bit unclear whether the OP is talking about the android app or the IOS app or both.

Hi IWC Doppel, ok you say (I think) you are linking  your wifi access points via a managed switch... and your iOS app can't reliably see the Naim rooms... assuming your iOS app connects to your network via a wireless access point to this managed switch... it almost certainly points to an IGMP incompatibility between your router, switch, streamer software  and Naim app software... so as a work around, as it is a managed switch, disable IGMP snooping on the switch  ... I suspect once you do this all shall be resolved ( if it's for an iOS app)... and assuming you are only using low bandwidth multicast groups, like UPnP discovery, you will be ok with no real negative side effects.

Hi, thanks, sorry yes wireless access point, 5 of, routers, 1 of. I have reinstalled and it seems okay now. I do have 5 wireless access points (airport extremes) around the house linked via ethernet cabling, may Uniqute is linked to one. My managed switch is a very straightforward netgear
