Used Supernait or new XS2

Posted by: Nina on 15 August 2017

I am thinking of trying a Naim amp again and I can buy a good used and serviced Supernait at a reasonable price or I could buy a new or lightly used XS2

I only use cd so the inbuilt Dac in the Supernait might come in handy

Do the two amps sound much the same?

Thanks for any help

Or a life to live? Do, those who plan things on yearly spans, remember that they could not wake up tomorrow?

Can anyone tell me what difference there is between say a 2003 CDX2 and the current model?

A different CD drive & puck,  however the most notable difference is the latest has a digital output.

I think I've changed my mind and will start with a CD5 XS which I can get used/ex dem with a warranty which I prefer to getting a really old CDX2 with no warranty

If I don't like the sound of the CD5 XS I can always sell it and not loose much, if anything

If I do like the sound of the CD5 XS then selling my transports and dac will virtually pay for it

Dude, we have a valve amp convert, and one that's (according to all available data) female.  That's got to be worth another seven pages yet, hasn't it?  I mean, I had problems with NACA5, but no one offered to come round and re-solder mine for free.  BTW, where do you live?

You can't live in Pompey and not know what that stands for, surely? Listen carefully and I'll sing it.

I have absolutely no idea what it means, but I'm not native to Portsmouth

Play up Pompey, Pompey play up..... Pompey is a football team in the third tier of the league.

Thanks for explaining...

However I have a bit of a pet hate of the word Pompey, I don't know why.. it's a bit like Hants instead of Hampshire... hate that as well..

All ridiculous banter aside, have you chosen between the XS2 and SN2 yet?
