Uniti Atom Remote does not pair

I am up amNd runnng with Uniti Atom througjh iOS app. But not able to pair the Remote.
Every timeI power it on it takes me to the home screen. And even trying for many times by pressing the home button on Remote for 3 secs and more I am not able to pair the remote.
Any idea what's is going on ?

Mine took 4 attempts I think and a complete power down cycle as well as removing the batteries from the remote for a few minutes. It wasn't pretty or slick but I got there in the end.
By now I probably tried 40 times (including some full power down cycle and removing batteries for more than 10 minutes). No luck.

Simple, elegant and efficient, I presume you have tried contacting support somewhere amidst those 40 attempts?

Had the same problem, and I did speak to support. The solution was to hold the remote so it's almost touching the Uniti front screen with the home button held down, in my case for a good 10 second.
I also found out that the Uniti does not have to be in setup mode, pairing can be done at any time.

Keep the remote close and make sure you press the home button, during my first setup excitement I was pressing the central nav button.
Just tried again by keeping the remote closed and pressing the Home butto for more than 10 sec. No luck.
Tried in various angle - the head of the remote pointing to the screen, the remote little bit in an angle but the back surface in parallel to the screen (like the way they have shown in the instruction). No luck. Any other angle you guys suggest ?
Whenever I hold the remote button the white ring appears and rotates around the navigation buttons and once I release the home button after 10-15 secs it rotates further for few more seconds and then disappear. Nothing happens after that.

Well done Sourav - contacting Naim support is always a good idea on these things, although being the weekend, you may have to wait until Monday for an answer. I've pinged Phil, just in case he has any ideas and is around on the forum this weekend.

BTW, the remote does spin in its display while I hold the home button and keep it close to atom. But even after that the remote does not function - like if I press the power button on remote it does not make atom go to standby mode.

And low and behold my remote has 'un-paired' itself and will not re-pair now either. It is a joke it really is. The app has many issues too. Does anyone know of a snagging list with the app, that I can verify my issues with?

Hi Sourav,
When you press and hold the home button on the remote do you get the LEDs that make up the volume ring on the remote "circling"?
If you don't then the remote isn't going into pairing mode.
To pair the remote press and hold the home button on the remote until the volume ring "circles" and then hold the remote against the front panel of the Uniti (it's the same for Atom / Star / Nova).
If that doesn't work for you then can you let me know which part doesn't work for you.

For me, the remote starts pairing almost immediately I press and hold the home button as I see the volime ring starts circling..
Next I hold the remote against the front panel. It continues circling for few more seconds and then the light disappears.
I tried this with 3 positions - holding the back of the remote against the front panel, holding front of the remote against the front panel and holding the head of the remote against the front panel. The corcling happens for few more seconds and then the light disappers.
By the way, I was able to connect the Naim's ios app with the atom. And right now it is connected with Naim app. Not sure whether that creates the problem.
I tried pairing also after putting atom in deep sleep and then waking it up. I tried the same pairing steps after atom goes back to the home screen. But no luck.

Why does the remote need pairing at all??
Because you can have two units next to each other controlled by separate remotes, for example?

Or two units in two separate rooms, in which case you are able to control them via a single remote ...
Surely an Atom only needs one remote?

As the local dealer I Just wanted to let everyone know we're in touch with Sourav and am sure we will be able to resolve the issue. We've had no issues so far with our store demo unit and will post here once resolved.

Hello - I'm also having trouble pairing with the remote. I'm attempting to set up my new Nova. I've tried everything that I can think of and still no luck. This is extremely frustrating. Help!

Take look at the other thread on the same subject, started by Bencrosby and see if that helps.
If still no joy then get in touch with Naim support on Monday.
In the mean time give your dealer a call, my dealer installed for me.
I has similar problem. I could not pair the remote after trying all possible procedures. My dealer had to replace the unit. The very unit was defective.
So please get in touch with your dealer.

I suspect this is a design fault not a hardware fault (as it seems to happen quite often) and so will probably be fixed with a firmware update in due course.....

Hi All,
If you have already had your unit working and the remote is no longer pairing with your unit then the following sequence is the one that I have had confirmed as being correct...
- Ensure that the Atom / Nova proximity sensor isn’t being triggered (volume indication LED ring on volume control is not illuminated).
- Holding the remote away from the unit press and hold the “Home” button until the volume ring on the remote “circles”.
- Once the volume indicator is circling release the home button.
- Bring the remote up to the front of the Atom / Nova and place it flat against the display.
- The remote should then pair with the Atom / Nova within about three or four seconds and the volume display on the remote stop circling.
If you continue to have problems pairing the remote with your unit after performing that sequence then please contact support@naimaudio.com or your dealer.
