What would be your ideal image behind your speakers?

I don't mean the band/orchestra, but something a lot of us cannot afford. For example...

Huge glass windows/patio doors to:

The sea

To mountains

A lake

The beach

Your own hifi

A brick wall

(Mine is a lake.)

The curved back wall of my massive, custom built listening room, covered in shelves full of vinyl that act as perfect echo diffusers

Not sure its my "perfect" or my dream background ... but William Morris wallpaper here!

A picture of Debbie Harry ... or actually Debbie Harry herself?

The real one would have been good - when i'm not listening to the system she could look after the garden and keep the dog amused. Win win really

I had better not say on a public forum!

The Picture above reminds me of a book I own, 100 Suns by Michael Light, fascinating if unsettling. Link to a gallery here

I second the image of a 1980 Debbie Harry. Or perhaps a psychedelic Che Guevara poster.

A truly awesome (in the correct sense) book. Every time I look at it makes me depressed that I didn't get the first I needed to work at AWRE, even though that was more than 40 years ago.

What a great image though to remind one of the fragility of existence on this planet under the set of insane despots we have.

Well, for a picture to fill the wall behind the speakere it would probably depend on the music, so maybe a wall-sized screen linked to a varied library of hi def images (but not a slideshow or moving images, as that would be distracting)

If it had to be a single picture, than maybe something looking into space taken by the Hubble telescope, leaving my mind open to depths to which the music might take me.

Otherwise, and overall better, a huge picture window, looking out on a stunning open and mountainous landscape ...

It does sound fascinating.  I've spent a fair bit of time watching videos of nuclear tests with a mix of awe, morbid fascination and revulsion.  A weird mix that makes them compelling to watch, for all that they're terrifying.

Including one that was the most bizarre apparent attempt to use the threat of nuclear war as a lesson to the public to keep their houses nicely painted and their gardens nice and tidy (it's called the house in the middle if you want to look it up).  It'd be hilarious if it wasn't the absolute opposite of hilarious.

Hi Dave,

yes this pretty much sums it up. I didn't know the film before, thanks for pointing towards it. The experience of reading/looking through the book is much more somber. You do this at your own pace and if you are wired a little like me, you can't stop thinking about what you just have seen.

Monica Bellucci.

Jessica Alba or Sarah Michelle Gellar - neither of which I could afford...

Or a view of Lago di Como.
