Top 200 albums from the 1960's you should own or at least check out

I found this list which I think is one the most comprehensive and well thought out selections I've seen in a long while.

You might need to mute to get rid of the commentary and I don't really think it matters about the order as all these albums are absolute classics.

I have 162 out of the 200.

I lost count, though I'd never get near to your total (too many jazz albums!) but an interesting list nonetheless. Thank you.

It's been said that everyone's Golden Age of music is their teens but I'm glad that the back half of the 60s coincided with my mid/late teens.

You could argue for any number of personal favourites that aren't in that list, but it's largely immaterial - there's enough there to build a wonderful collection in itself, quite apart from the stuff that they inspired afterwards (and still do).

Gosh I feel old.

Thanks for posting this. It's a great list to see if there are interesting albums that I might have missed (I was born in the 70s).

Great list as it spans across the different styles of music, thanks for sharing.....

I second Bert's comment - I really liked the multi-genre approach used. As with any such list there are cases that can be made for additional inclusions, but I found it informative and interesting, and much more complete than the usual fare for this sort of thing.

All these lists are always very subjective. I would probably come up with a similar or better list by having a few friends coming around for a chat and a few drinks,  some grub  and more...

Great list.  Validating for vinyl old timers, too.

Great list...born in 1950 I have a lot of the pop stuff and came to jazz a lot latter!
