Naim iOS v.5.7.5 app
Posted by: L_H on 25 August 2017
Dear Naim, the aforementioned version has not ported, has the final candidate upload taken place as the App Store still issuing 5.7.4. Do I assume that the post was a little premature and it's still in App Review Status?
Please advise.
Well importer and Naim both had no solutions for my app problems. Yesterday i read all the advice on this forum and i changed igmp snooping function to off and the app keeps working. So thanks Simon. Naim schould pick some routers to work with. So give us users the correct setting for the app and updates. Weeks being not happy and now its seems on little change and it works again.
Ahem. Who mentioned igmp snooping first?
Also CP62, if you installed a simple switch as your network hub (centre) instead of the router, I believe that would have solved the IGMP problem also.
Sorry Hungryhalibut you are right, thank you

Hello Mike
I have found that two things make a profound difference, it shouldn't, but to does.
Devices which have paired with an Atom in my case appear to stay semi-active. My example is a MacBook 2017, Mac OS Sierra - 10.12.6. Despite the Mac not being connected to the Atom, the Atom automatically applies the input to Bluetooth despite being on UPnP connected to a NAS drive, or a USB HDD/Flash Drive. The same also occurs with the inputs. Randomly you can be listening and it stops, you look at he Atom and the BT input is selected without physically selecting that input in the App or Remote.
Unchecking the 'Open Paring' option on the App v5.7.5, Build 507508 and then deleting the device in the OSx device list stops this from happening. Obviously not right and a bug there.
The same is also true on the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch, (I use the Touch as my Remote Control).
The dropouts on iRadio still happen but no where near as often - not sure if this is related or not now. The quality even on the HD stations selections is still not great, although listenable. It's sounds quite flat and muffled.
Best
Thanks for the bluetooth info; My interest is because Mrs Mike uses it on everything, it's not causing a problem but as I hardly use it at all I'm trying to learn a few things & hopefully rationalise what she has. As I said I don't use it, I have it off on both iPad & laptop, in fact I have aim to have everything set to off (or delete or similar) that I don't use on the iPad & laptop. I only use bluetooth on my phone thats paired with the car, but I no longer use the phone for UPnP app control.
Re iRadio dropouts; I've never had a BBC drop out, unlike other forum posts. I do like the HLS sound & I don't hear it as flat or muffled, in some respects its better than FM. it does not have the 19kHz pilot tone band limiting filter (cuts output above 12 to 15kHz) giving iRadio more detail in the HF end. LF seems to be a touch stronger as well. Re drop outs, last Sunday Radio Paradise had a few hours of 10 to 20 second cuts, very unusual & yes very annoying. Obviously a RP issue as Naim, Linn & the BBC's were OK.
That finding rooms screen and the spinning circle till it reconnects to NDX is still happening. It's been like this since 5.7.1.
Presumably there's no intention to revert to the former situation when the app reconnected straight to NDX without the in-between stages. Perhaps [@mention:1566878603985147] could confirm that we're stuck with this (slight) delay by design rather than oversight...?
