Super Lumina trial
Posted by: Richieroo on 26 August 2017
Borrowed a Super Lumina interconnect and tried it between nds and 552 .... omg sounds fantastic... everything is better .... makes my hi line sound thin and harsh. It is a keeper!!! .... I am so impressed ... I was skeptical but i have to say wow....
Try rose tinted specs.....i find they work just great
Case in point. Thank you Mr Roo. :-)

Alright the test is off until I secure different color lab coats and rose colored glasses. Then I will put this debate to rest.

Now now, just pull the thing out, stick the other one in,and sit back and listen to the "broken" sound the stock cable delivers.
I actually put my stock cables and NACA5 cables back into my system a few weeks back to satisfy my curiosity. Unfortunately, I'm not able to report the results as it will be pointed out that I'm unqualified to undertake report on such a test without my unconscious bias causing misreporting of the worse kind.
I stand by what I heard
super lumina makes hi line sound broken
And the cliche of the month award goes to..................
Somehow if it were a Sarum thread there would be a lot less cable denying
SL IC exchange has taken place. Standard IC is in. First song and I can't tell a difference. I will keep it this way until Sunday then switch back to SL IC. That will tell the tale I suppose.

If you can't tell the difference, do you have your lab coat buttoned up the right way, I have to ask?
On another, just as serious, tack... I found the Chord Music provided a tangible upgrade to my SuperLumia when used to connect my NDS to 552... the difference, I thought, was worth the extra wonga, so the S/L went back for a full price part-ex to that wonderful dealer in Leicester whose name has something to do with cymbols.
I should add that I've kept the S/L that connects my LP12 to the 552... that combination makes very nice music.

During my lab experiments over the next few days I will be sure to have all lab coats properly buttoned and rose tinted glasses on.
Lab coat made of benign electrical, magnetic and voodoo material please Mr S

so what did what the Chord Music do better than SL?
It is reassuring though, as it costs DOUBLE the price of the already damn expensive SL.
at 3800 GBP per meter, this ain't no joke. for that money, it better make the music orgasmic ![]()
or at the very least, sound like the 500 to 500 DR upgrade?
As I keep saying, nobody likes paying that kind of money for a cable.

If it sound broken it IS broken
Not unusual

It sounds like a joke

Except that it isn't broken
the superlumina trounces it

I thought it was too. But they got that superior taylon insulation
but still it's crazy money

But if it isn't broken then how can it sound broken as broken means not working?
Ha ha ha
there were 3 of us in the room
all agreed the hi line sounded much inferior, veiled, congested, than the SL
accept it, it's a superb interconnect
not sure why this is so difficult to hear
its very obvious and audible
bloody well should be for a 2000 gbp cable
You know, when I first replaced my aging QED Qudos speaker cable with NACA5, the system sounded broken. When I put the right speakers on the end of it, it sounded completely unbroken. Hmmm?

Since when has "veiled, congested or much inferior" got anything to do with "broken" ?
Is "broken" just a hifi slang
Is broken no longer a defect/faulthy item ?

Or just broke which most of us are after a visit to a Naim dealer.
Broken is just hi fi slang
