Does a Unitiserve do what a NAS does?

All,

I have a US that works very well with my NDX. I have bought a muso thats set up I believe. It plays Tidal and iradio as it should.

It shows my music library in the US via the Naim app on my tablet, unfortunately there is  no sound?

You have to question the Naim use of a website with limited ability rather than a comprehensive manual, it would take the pressure off their apparently limited service support.

I think this reflects that their target market for the musos and new Uniti products is people who don't read manuals or do anything with bits of paper come to that. The fact the equivalent of the manual is on line also means that it is easier for Naim to update it to include changes from firmware updates and so on.

I think it's actually the right approach personally.

I guess David I might have some sympathy if they had updated the support pages, with lessons learnt. But they have not as far as I can see......with problems still recurring. Update the pages, then remove a topic when you have fixed it.?

If I buy a smartphone I just insert the chip, enter one password or two and after a few seconds I am able to make phone calls, messaging, and use a number of apps, including music, videos,  hotspot for the computer, etc.  I can connect to wifi in airports, restaurants, etc, with no problems. No need of manuals, dealers, internet wbsites, anything. A Qb/Muso shouldn't be more complicated than that. The rest is @#$%.

I have to recognize that it took me 2 sessions to set my Qb up. The first time I just plugged it into the network in my office with a cable I had there. After 20 minutes, nothing.  Next day I came in with an Apple AE, two new short network wires, connected the AE to the same plug the day before, and the Qb to the AE and it started in a few minutes after following the same instructions.  Tidal streaming drops down very often, radio Paradise or Classical a little bit better. I have had no time (patience) to set it up in a way it works well. I decided to go the USB route. Fine!! But guess what? I don't see the artwork in the app, only quavers. If the app is getting all the info of the tracks is it so difficut to get the cover art and display it??

I'm sure I try to stream Tidal through my MacBook Air  A+, I dont get a sigle interruption in the whole day. Tomorrow I will try.
