Nova vs 272/200 anyone?

Why not go to your dealer and try it? Remember also that the 272 can be transformed with a power supply, whereas the Nova cannot. As to the replacement for the 272 you'd imagine it will be a year or two away, but Naim might surprise us. I guess it depends on how important the new tech is to you, and how much you like removing dust from the volume control and that annoying groove on the top.

For me, the new range lacks the "punchy authority" of the older range. 272/200 is way better in terms of SQ. But your ears may say not.

I also tried a 200 on the end of a Atom in the hope that it delivered a similar SQ to that of the old, but with the advantages of the new tech, but it still lacked the ability to get the feet moving.

I'm not sure that you're really comparing old vs new here, so much as with and without a power amp squeezed into an already very crowded box.

One would hope the Atom demo units are now burned in, but I would doubt any Nova demo units are fully burnt in yet.
