Whats this all about ?

Why is it people create "likes"

What do they gain ?

And me ?

Maybe Im old fashioned but seeing I had 17 likes in a couple of days..!what the f*** is it and who cares ?

Waste of time, eh

Maybe I'm old fashioned too, and don't really grasp the "like" concept, as applied to social media, (which I don't really "get" either), but when I "like" a post on here, it's simply a way of agreeing with the views expressed, without having to reply using a quote.

Simples.

So you see it as a "+1" in a hurry ?

If I should take notice of the seventeen likes mentioned (which I dont intend to) will it give me any usefull view in relation to above agreeing ?

I'm pretty sure most of them are done accidentally by iPhone users.

Erm, there's certain folks on here who seem to intensely dislike the use of "+1", which of course, in best schoolboy fashion, merely provokes an outbreak of "+1" responses, but no, it's simply a way of approving of the post.

I suppose, as in real life, when one puts forward a viewpoint, it's reassuring to feel that one is not talking bollox, otherwise if one simply didn't care, then one is, possibly, a candidate for membership of the "old and grumpy" club.

Holy cow

This thread helped, didn't receive any likes since start

It simply indicated appreciation and avoids people to commit suicide as they are at least liked on the forum.......as with Facebook a dislike would also help.

Would I then be able to dislike someone posting silly cable thread comments ?

Maybe not a bad idea finally

There is a setting that enables you not to get emails when someone likes one of your posts. It's most useful.
