Uniti 2 and olives etc

Hi all I've posted a previous query about using JRiver and a Uniti 2 and had great and helpful responses - thanks to the responders. I've now got 2 hardware questions that I thought better to start as a separate thread.

Firstly I thought of keeping my NAP 140 to use as a power amp with the Uniti 2. What views do readers have please? One dealer has told me not to bother as Naim has come a long way in amplification since my olive's days and in his opinion the 140 wouldn't improve the Uniti's sound quality. Of course not keeping it would free up a bit more funding!

Secondly I will be keeping my Credos - are they an adequate speaker for the Uniti 2 and if not what do I look at with reasonable cost?

Again all advice will be helpful and most welcome. Thanks.

The poweramp section in your U2 is basically a Nait 5i or si and as such a good amp but different to older olive

Dealer is a sales person and offcourse promote new stuff

Personally I think there's advantages in both camps , olive and new

I have no idea if you can connect a 140 to your Uniti but sure a better result is to go for separate preamp with 140 and separate CD, other Uniti facilities lost

If you like the Credo's they're fine provided correct setup, for the price these are selling currently I wouldn't bother selling them. but if you plump into a pair SBL these are definately better on most accounts.

The Credos will be fine. Why not try the Uniti with the 140 and decide. The U2 is a bit more powerful than the original version, so may not benefit from the 140. The 200 is really the one to go for if you want to add a power amp.
