Dave - not exactly.

The 707s were fronted by predominantly LP12 SE - I think standard top plate and power cable but Music on the Urika. The amps were 552/500. Gorgeous  

I believe that the 606s had the top Linn streamer and amp. We took it in turns to select the music. 

The 606 system performed well, but the 707s took a bit of my heart. 

Oh dear, sounds like it could be expensive.

speakers are the slave of the amp (and perhaps the front-end too for that matter)

Debs - Not yet. At least I don't think so. The 707s are though.

I spoke to The Audiobarn today and they told me that the 606s on demo there on 14 October will be the final production versions but they won't be active then because the SNAXO for the 606 has not yet been signed off by Naim, probably because the 606 uses a different mid/bass unit to the 707.

707 and 808 will use the same SNAXO (because the bass to mid-bass on the 808 uses natural roll-on of the mid-bass) with a small potentiometer tweak.

606 will need a different SNAXO. Will be interesting to see if that will be shared with Super 20a.

Correct, the 707 and 808 SNAXOs are essentially the same and the 606 SNAXO will be tailored to the 606s mid/bass drive unit(s). The 606 uses a mid/bass that has been developed from that used in the S20a so they may or may not share the same SNAXO. I will try and find out more on 14 October.

So chord now makes 606 and 707? You learn something on the forum every day.
