iOS Naim application and NAC-N 272

Posted by: Arturek on 19 September 2017

Something happened with my Naim application in my iPhone 6.

Everything was working perfectly and today stopped. I reinstalled application and it doesn't see any product.

I used sequences from Welcome page: Setup new product - Uniti Core - Next....   and program starts never-ending searching.

Any ideas?

On the principle of "if it doesn't work, turn it off then turn it on again" you might trying turning off your phone then turning it on again—and perhaps doing the same with the Core at the same time.

I'm sure others will chime in if something a little more sophisticated is required!

I was assuming that the OP's response meant it was now working. May be wrong though.

I read it that he had already tried restarting the phone and the 272 and Core, but with no success. Anyway if he still needs help no doubt he will say so.

Good.

You should never need to reinstall the app. Stopping it by double clicking iPhone home button and swiping app upwards should always be enough.

If you do get the welcome page in the app, then touch the link called "find my rooms".

But if you have no rooms after restarting the app and restarting the 272/Core, it will almost certainly be a router restart that is needed.

Yes that's right Huge!

But I remember Phil saying he almost never saw a convincing need to reinstall an app and IOS is good at preventing damage to installed software. The reason why people find it useful to reinstall an app, in my view, is because the act of deleting it also deletes all the data stored by the app, so gives it a fresh start as it were. Resetting the app ought to have the same effect...(except that Murphy's law also applies to app design!)
