Hi ,
At the moment , my setup is Dac v1 (with Daphile player ) + Nap 200
Make sense to replace the V1 with a discontinued nac 172 xs ?
p.s. I don't have any dsd in my library , and the 272 are too much expensive

IMHO, it's a side move... I suggest you to flip V1/200 and go listen the Nova, it has a better technology i.e re-written core operating system for future upgrade, and, it's a "one size fit all" box.

I think the 172/200 is a great sounding combination, and now that it's been discontinued there are probably good deals to be had. I can't tell you how the sound quality will compare to the V1, but if you want to add streaming to your system, it's a good option.

I run a V1 into a 110, with a microRendu for streamer (and Uptone LPS-1 for power) and iPeng as controller. Lots of options out there for the streaming part beyond Naim. Plus the 172 won't interface via USB which is what the V1 is optimized for.
